The Sacramento River channel winds its way through the area creating a major visual, recreational and economic asset. The river corridor provides miles of lush riparian habitat against a backdrop of mountain ranges that include the Trinity Alps to the west, Mt. Shasta to the north and Mt. Lassen to the east.
