Celebrity City is the first and only planned entertainment city in the world. It is located four miles south in Cottonwood. The project includes forty-six live music theaters as well as music, film and video production studios which will include distribution facilities. Celebrity City will also include two golf courses, twenty thousand hotel and motel rooms, shopping malls, several hundred restaurants and all of the supporting businesses needed for the day to day operation of a city.
The Celebrity City project is modeled after the second leading destination resort in the United States; the city of Branson, Missouri. Branson currently has over thirty-five music theaters, scores of fine restaurants and over fifteen thousand hotel and motel rooms. The facitlites in Branson were built to fill the needs of three million tourists who were already visiting the nearby mountains, recreation areas and lakes in 1985 when the first wave of building began. The natural beauty and outdoor activities of the Branson area attract a large group of tourists looking for all types of family entertainment.
Celebrity City enjoys a similar situation in Northern California on a much larger scale. More than ten million tourists currently visit the Shasta Cascade region every year to enjoy the mountains, lakes and forests that make up the many national and state parks surrounding the area. This region has one of the largest natural resources of tourists in the United States and all of the characteristics that made Branson such a great success. Celebrity City has studied these characteristics and sees an opprtunity to provide high quality entertainment and activities for the ten million tourists who visit our area.
